Rapid Palatal Expander (RPE)
Specification：
The Rapid Palate Expander (RPE) is used to correct the jaw width, crowding and cross bites. It is particularly used in young patients who have an unfused palate.RPE could widen the patient’s jaw at a rate of 0.5 mm per day.It usually takes between 3-6 months to achieve the desired result.
Important Properties：
1. It reduces teeth crowding.
2. It corrects crossbite.
3. It improves breathing (reduces nasal resistance).
Indications：
1. Narrow upper jaw (compare to the lower jaw)
